Early Learning Challenge

This Web page provides information about the Early Learning Challenge, including an e-book, Rising to the Challenge: Building Effective Systems for Young Children and Families. The Early Learning Challenge is a major federal funding initiative supporting States in their efforts to align, coordinate, and improve the quality of existing early learning and development programs that support children from birth through age five (particularly those at high risk).

Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) Grant Program

This Web site has information and resources on the Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems Grant Program, which awards competitive, cooperative agreement grants to States to design, develop, implement, and expand longitudinal education data systems. These systems are intended to enhance the ability of States to efficiently and accurately manage, analyze, and use education data. This Web site includes information on the grant program, as well as many public resources designed to support the development and implementation of statewide longitudinal data systems.

Early Childhood Data

This compilation of resources was created to support States in the development of statewide, comprehensive early childhood data systems. It highlights federal initiatives related to early childhood data systems and provides resources related to their development, use, and implementation.

Putting the Pieces Together: New York Early Learning Program Data Systems

This report presents the results of surveys of New York State and New York City agencies providing services to young children. The surveys, undertaken by the Early Care & Learning Council and the New York State Council on Children and Families, set out to identify the elements of these agencies’ data systems and the accessibility of those elements.

Early Childhood Data Collaborative

This Web site provides resources related to the development and use of coordinated State early care and education data systems. It provides a ten-part framework for early childhood data systems, State success stories, and State case studies.
