Projection of the Quality Expenditures and Budgeting Template

This session is designed to increase understanding of quality expenditures and budgeting. This session reviews the requirements of quality spending, discusses the flexibility of choosing quality activities, and explores the budget worksheet to budget for quality spending. This sample budget worksheet is available to Tribal Lead Agencies by requesting technical assistance through your regional office.

Demonstration of the Projecting CCDF Spending for Direct Services Tools

This session will assist you in projecting your program’s direct services costs and help you predict the number of children that your Tribal Lead Agency can serve through direct services. This session includes a demonstration of the Projecting CCDF Spending for Direct Services Tool that is available to grantees by requesting technical assistance through your regional office. Your National Center on Tribal Early Childhood Development Technical Assistance Specialist can then assist you with projecting spending for direct services using this tool.

Demonstration of the Budgeting Template

This session includes a demonstration of the Budgeting Template, where we will share a brief overview of Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) budgeting practices, including defining your CCDF program expense categories and demonstrating ways to use this template as a tool in your program. This sample budget worksheet is available to Tribal Lead Agencies by requesting technical assistance through your regional office. Your National Center on Tribal Early Childhood Development Technical Assistance Specialist can then assist you in adapting this tool for use in your program.

Justification of CCDF Expenses

This session demonstrates how you can use your Tribal CCDF Plan; the American Indian and Alaska Native Child Care and Development Fund: Guide to Financial Management, Grants Administration, and Program Accountability; information memoranda; program instructions; and other resources to justify your purchase orders, timesheets, and other expenses to your finance department and the Office of Child Care regional office staff.

Introduction to Fiscal Management

This session shares an introduction to Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) fiscal management for Tribal Lead Agencies. Participants will gain an understanding of CCDF financial management definitions, sound fiscal practices, CCDF fiscal requirements, and important timelines.
